Obituary of Harold S. Banker

GREENVILLE – Harold S. Banker, 87, passed away on Sunday evening, November 23, 2014 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany after a brief illness. Born in Rochester on September 24, 1927, he was son of the late Sylvester and Lavina Banker. Harold was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Normandy. He returned from service and joined the Village of Spencerport Department of Public Works, retiring in 1982. He moved to Greenville, Greene County in 1983. Harold was a member of the Greenville American Legion Post 291. Harold is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gail L. Beaney Banker; two children, Kathi Lawler and Mervyn Banker; one grandson, Michael Lawler; one brother, Charles Banker. In addition to his parents, Harold was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Pilon. Harold has been cremated privately. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, November 29, at 1 p.m., at the United Methodist Church of Greenville & Norton Hill, 5830 State Route 81, Greenville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Greenville American Legion Post 291, PO Box 132, Greenville, NY 12083 will be appreciated. Arrangements by A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville.
