Obituary of Mary Rebecca Wallace

CATSKILL – Mary R. (nee Browne) Wallace, 83, died peacefully Saturday, January 17, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Born September 10, 1931 to James and Ellen Browne in Drumkeen, Donegal, Ireland, she immigrated to the United States in 1958. Mary is survived by five children, James (Dorothy) of Dobbs Ferry, Neil (Jean) of Freehold, Maureen T. of Catskill, Kathleen McLoughlin (Robert) of Dobbs Ferry, and Ellen P. McGinty (Kevin) of Lake Peekskill; 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Kevin Wallace (Bridget). Mary was predeceased by her parents; beloved husband, Patrick N. Wallace; three children, Charles, Shaun and Carmel; and siblings, Sarah and Charles Browne. Mary resided in Yonkers and in Ossining for many years, moving upstate in 1995. She worked at St John's Hospital and Skyview Nursing Home. Mary was a communicant of Our Lady of Knock Shrine. She was a member of the Irish-American Club in Ossining, AOH, Miraculous Medal Association, Marianists, and Right to Life. Calling hours will be Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville, NY, Mass will be offered Thursday, 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Knock Shrine, Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Condolences may be posted at ajcunninghamfh.com.
