Obituary of Louis J. Acconi

GREENVILLE – Louis J. Acconi, 73, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday March 19, 2015. He was born in Brooklyn on July 6, 1941. Louis worked for more than 30 years for Verizon (New York Telephone) in Manhattan. Upon retirement, he relocated to Greenville where he became active with the Italian American Community Center in Albany. Louis is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Anna Acconi; his son John and Angela Acconi, and granddaughter Alyssa; his son Louis and Robin Acconi; his mother Ida Acconi, aged 99; his sisters Barbara (Peter) Senese and Johann (Frank) Giordano; his sisters-in-law Lucy Iacucci, Polly Balsamo, and Dar Balsamo; his brother-in-law Eugene Balsamo; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Louis was predeceased by his father, John Acconi. A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 21 at 2pm at the South Westerlo Congregational Christian Church, 282 County Route 405, Greenville, NY 12083.
