Obituary of Patrick N. Lambe

Patrick Nicholas Lambe, 78, of Greenville, NY passed away peacefully on October 6, 2015 at Wake Med Hospital, Cary NC. Patrick was born on January 11, 1937 in London, England. He was the eldest son of Evelyn Theresa Whelan Lambe of London, England and Thomas Lambe of Nobber, County Meath, Ireland. He was a graduate of St. Columba's College, in St. Albans, London, England. After graduation Pat worked with the law courts in London until emigrating to the U.S. in 1955. Upon entering the U.S. he lived with his sponsors, Mr. & Mrs. Goes in Selkirk, NY. Through his work in the farming industry in Greene County, Pat met his dear friends, Howard and Grace Gifford and resided with them in Medusa, NY. After becoming a U.S. citizen on June 16, 1960 Patrick became an active member of the U.S. Army Reserves. He received an honorable discharge in November 1964. Patrick then worked as an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance Company for 24 years. After retiring from Prudential he opened his own financial advisory business as well as working for the New York State Magistrates Association until retiring completely in 2009. Patrick will be remembered for his many contributions to his family, church and community. He leaves behind many faithful friends and a loving family who will miss him deeply: his devoted wife of 40 years, Maureen Lambe of Greenville, NY; loving daughter, Maura Lambe and cherished grandson, Brendan Lambe of Apex, NC. His brothers: Thomas Lambe (Margaret), Sean Lambe and Michael Lambe (Linda). Nephews: Kevin Lambe and Kieran Lambe (Kim) of London, England. A funeral mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Church, Rt. 81, Greenville, NY at 11 am, Friday, October 16, 2015. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church, prior to the Mass. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
