Obituary of Harold W. Ross

WESTERLO – Harold W. Ross, 80, died suddenly Sunday morning, October 11, 2015 at his residence. Born in Albany on July 5, 1935, he was son of the late Leroy Francis Ross and Doris Mae Bird Ross. Harold lived most of his life in Westerlo and Greenville. He served in the US Army during the Korean War as a member of the Honor Guard in Washington, DC. Harold was a truck driver for Van Auken Express in Greenville for more than 30 years and was a member of the Teamsters. He was a member of Greenville American Legion Post 291. Harold is survived by his sweetheart and best friend of 30 years, Marilyn Koerner and her family: Philip & Laraine Koerner, Dawn Koerner Boehlke, Donna Koerner, Gerri & Jason Krasney; his children, Harold, Patti, Kit, Shari, Betty Jo and Betsy Lee; two sisters, Peggy Bishop and Nancy Snyder; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Harold was predeceased by his brother, Roy Ross. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 12 to 2 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. The funeral will be at 2 p.m., followed by burial with military honors in Westerlo Central Cemetery.
